Clay is both fragile and incredibly strong. Unfired earth is responsive and malleable. As soon as it is touched in its soft state, there is an imprint. We leave our mark on clay as it has left its mark on our human heritage. Craft is often seen as converse to our current technology- centered approach but clay carries the value of tradition and the promise of innovation.

Imprint celebrates the natural materiality, honors artisan traditions, and enables us to connect to something bigger. It is these seemingly dichotomous ideas that nourish each other in all clay works thereby cultivating this collection. Used throughout human history, clay is all around us in both creative and practical forms, historical and modern.
